The Mad Gardener's Song

Þessar ljóðlínur úr kvæði Lewis Carroll, The Mad Gardener's Song hafa ávallt verið mér hjartfólgnar:
He thought he saw an Elephant, That practised on a fife: He looked again, and found it was A letter from his wife. "At length I realise," he said, "The bitterness of Life!" ´
Má ég svo líka benda ykkur á ljóðið The Walrus and the Carpenter en ein vísa úr því er á þessa leið: The time has come, the Walrus said, To talk of many things, Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, Of cabbages and kings, And why the sea is boiling hot, And wether pigs have wings.

The time has come, the walrus said, to talk of many things, of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot, and whether pigs have wings.
